Top tennis couple Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi will be getting the plimsoll whitener out again as they are set to face Tim Henman and Kim Clijsters in an exhibition match at Wimbledon on May 17th.
The exhibition game will be played ahead of the traditional Wimbledon week to test out the new retractable roof and make sure that the air management system is functioning properly. The event will feature a mens singles, ladies singles and a mixed doubles match.
Britain’s Tim Henman has spoken of the ’special place’ that Wimbledon centre court has always been to him and is looking forward to the chance of playing there again with the likes of Andre, Steffi and Kim. He added ” I think it will be a really fun day for everyone and the new roof is going to make it a fascinating experience.”
It will be especially great to see seven time Wimbledon champion Steffi Graf back out on court and she has also spoken of her special feelings for the venue, saying:
“There is no tennis venue more special to me than Centre Court at Wimbledon. It just doesn’t get any better. I couldn’t be more honoured to play there again with my husband Andre, and tennis greats Kim and Tim. It will mean so much to return to Wimbledon and see so many familiar places, relive so many wonderful memories.”
