Roger Federer has beaten the in form American Andy Roddick to secure a place in the Miami Masters last four where he will play third seed Novak Djokovic. Federer won an uneasy contest with Roddick 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 much to the displeasure of the American crowd who were hoping that the home favourite could take advantage of Federer’s recent poor form.
Djokovic had earlier produced one of his finest displays beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3, 6-4 to progress to the semi final encounter with Federer. Still to be played are the other two quarter final matches between world number one, Rafael Nadal and sixth placed Juan Martin delPotro and the much anticipated game between Andy Murray and eighth seed Fernando Verdasco.
