Top basketball players are multi-millionaires and treated like film stars, similar to the top Premier League football players here.  So, if you are a basketball fan it is a real treat to be able to watch some of the best players in the world play in Europe.

NBA Europe 2010 Live is a pre-season event now in its fifth consecutive year whereby teams from the NBA League play against teams from the European Euroleague to help showcase and promote the game of basketball to a European audience.

NBA Europe Live 2010 Tickets are sought after as the LA Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks join Euroleague’s Regal FC Barcelona and Armani Jeans Milano (such a rubbish name!) in playing games in four major European cities – London, Paris, Milan and Barcelona – this October.

The NBA franchise has been promoting basketball by sending US teams to Europe for over 20 years.  After the NBA Europe Live 2010 tour, 54 games featuring 23 NBA teams will have been played in Europe since 1988.

Lewis was stopped by customs at Gatwick Airport after travelling into the UK from St Lucia, the drug allegedly carried in the players cricket bag. The dissolved cocaine was said by Customs officers to have been inside cans of fruit and vegetable juice.

The offence occured in December last year when the pair were stopped and a bag that Kirnon was holding for Lewis was found to contain around £7,000 in cash. Kirnon say’s that Lewis had asked him to carry the ‘man bag’ through customs as he was carrying more cash than he would be allowed to bring into the UK.

A further search of the suspects luggage led to the cocaine being found.
